Chelsea look to get back on track

Chelsea will look to get back on track in the Premier League when they host West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge on Monday, 12 February 2018, kick-off at 22h00 CAT.

Chelsea comes into the game in the midst of a crisis, having lost three of their last four matches across all competitions – including back-to-back league defeats to Bournemouth (0-3) and Watford (1-4).

The shocking dip in form has seen the Blues drop to fourth place on the Premier League log, and their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League is very much under threat from Tottenham Hotspur, who are just one point adrift.

All this has sparked further speculation that manager Antonio Conte is on his way out, with the London giants reportedly lining up former Roma and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique as a replacement.

West Brom, meanwhile, are one of the clear favourites to be relegated at the end of the season. They are rock bottom of the log, four points from safety, and have managed just one win from their last 24 league matches.

The Baggies may have lost their last two Premier League clashes (0-3 at Manchester City and 2-3 at home to Southampton), but a recent FA Cup win at Liverpool will give them hope that they can upset Chelsea in London.

In head-to-head stats, Chelsea and West Brom have met in 107 matches across all competitions. The Blues have claimed 48 wins compared to 33 for the Baggies, while 26 games have been drawn.

The teams’ most recent meeting was a Premier League clash at the Hawthorns in November 2017 which saw Chelsea claim a 4-0 win thanks to goals from Alvaro Morata, Eden Hazard (two) and Marcos Alonso. The Blues have won four of their last five matches against West Brom.
